‘Shark Tank’ review: Gameday Couture, Zipz wine, Biaggi Luggage, SWAG Essentials

The latest -There is a new episode of “Shark Tank” tonight, and the products on here were certainly interesting. We had the biggest offer in the history of the show, Daymond John actually throwing himself on his sword to give an entrepreneur the best chance to succeed, and a few things that were ridiculous here and there.

As always, we’re going to have links to go along with all of the products that we mention within this article, just in case you want to go and take a look at some of what they have to offer yourself.

Biaggi Luggage –  Can luggage be folded up? Sure! This proves it, and it seems to be a fairly practical product that is comparably priced to other luggage and is perfect for a QVC environment. It is for this reason that we probably saw Daymond realize that Lori Greiner was a better fit and took his offer off the table so she could get on board. This was a smart move all around. This can sell well, and we never got the sense that the company founder was here for anything other than a reasonable offer and help.

SWAG Essentials – We have no doubt that this is a good product, and that the woman in charge knows what she is doing. We just wish the branding was better, and that we could understand the product better without the show’s presentation.

The sad thing is that it felt obviously that there was going to be no deal here, but we really like the woman behind it. This was just way too early in the product’s life to be on the show, and she probably should have been told that during the audition process.

Gameday Couture – Perfect for people who want to go to the game looking good. This was so written for a Mark Cuban deal that it wasn’t even funny. The man already has MAJOR sports connections, and as a longtime Mavericks fan, we know that they need some work in the sports fashion department. He can help to expand them beyond that, and it feels like they were so excited to work with him, they did not even mind him cutting down on their valuation. More people now will be able to go to games looking good!

Zipz – A product that certainly entered the tank with all of the hype in the world. We really like the idea, the packaging, and almost everything else associated with it. We did not even think that the price point was that bad.

The show hyped this up as the biggest deal in the history of the show, and they weren’t kidding. Kevin O’Leary basically gave them exactly what they wanted ($2.5 million for 10%), with an option to buy more at the existing valuation following a deal with Costco. This really felt like the rare case of a shark actually needing the product for his own business, given that he has been in the process of launching wine at the retailer for some time now.
