‘The Walking Dead’ season 5 midseason finale spoilers: A small Gale Anne Hurd tease
We have many things to be thankful about right now when it comes to TV, but at the moment, one of the biggest ones has to be “The Walking Dead” continuing to deliver the goods. This season has been exciting, but at the same time surprising and even nerve-wrecking. After all, we are currently struggling to figure out what is going to happen on the upcoming midseason finale airing Sunday night.
Of course, you are not going to get every detail in the world right now about this episode, but we can at least give you this. Speaking to E! News, executive producer Gale Anne Hurd passed along the following message on the subject of how she would describe this big storyline ahead:
“I would say it is heartbreaking. It is, I think, completely unexpected and a fantastic way to end the midseason.”
This does in some ways go in line with what Norman Reedus teased recently about this story, which apparently put him in a very dark place before filming some key scenes.
As for what could lie beyond whatever devastation awaits Sunday, the EP explained that there is going to be most-likely another slate of emotional stories coming almost at every turn:
“I think the goal is to continue the theme of the first season, really, which is an in-depth examination of each character in our band of survivors and where they find themselves emotionally given the acts they’ve had to commit to survive.”

I hope they don’t kill Carol. I would rather they kill Beth.
