‘Sherlock’ season 4: Which cast member is hosting ‘Saturday Night Live’?
Apparently, the producers at “Saturday Night Live” are really liking what they are seeing out of Martin Freeman. After all, he has just landed a spot hosting the show come December 13.
Mere days before the opening of “The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies” hits theaters, the “Sherlock” star will be making his hosting debut. Joining him in the role of musical guest will be first-time musical guest Charlie XCX. The interesting thing about Freeman’s gig here is that this is only the second first-time host that “SNL” has brought on board the show this season. Chris Pratt hosted the premiere, but even he had some connections to the show already given that his wife Anna Faris has hosted many times, and his “Parks and Recreation” co-star Amy Poehler is one of the most-popular former cast members.
Can Freeman be funny? We know that he can, and he does have a history of doing stage work. This will still be an interesting challenge for him, and something that we are very much intrigued to watch unfold over the course of the weeks ahead.
Now, we have to hope that his co-star Benedict Cumberbatch is someone that “SNL” can also court at some point in the future. After all, we are pretty darn sure that he is someone that the producers for the NBC series would love to have around. Unfortunately, he, like Martin, has one of the busiest schedules known to mankind.

Please remember that not every article about Martin Freeman needs to mention his Sherlock co-star, whose publicity machine is working overtime (read: overexposure). The Internet is buzzing with excitement at the idea of Freeman hosting SNL. He has a very long list of impressive comedy credentials.
