‘NCIS’ season 12, episode 8 preview: The case comes in; Gibbs takes charge
Twelve seasons in to “NCIS,” we often find ourselves looking for new and interesting things that the show can do to tell a story. After all, at this point there have been so many different things done, it can be difficult for a storyline to stand out and really make a presence for itself.
We prefer in theory episodes like “Semper Fortis” right now than ones that come a little more action-heavy. Why? After seeing things blow up a couple of times, you start to become numb to it. That is why so many movies now spend millions of dollars trying to one-up each other in the department of creating the most insane stunt.
This case for Gibbs and company seems to be a little bit more subtle in theory, which may make it far more impactful in the end, as well. As the sneak-peek video below suggests, Mark Harmon’s character is going to be dealing with a situation that can certainly be described as difficult and then some. Basically, he has to deal with a woman who is perfectly qualified to help treat the injured, but there is one problem: No license. Her training overseas for the Navy has no real jurisdiction in America.
So how do you help someone like this? The biggest issue of this episode is probably going to be that very-tricky intersection of obeying the rules, but also figuring out how to do the right thing. Laws are important to uphold, especially if you are in the “NCIS” or a similar organization. With that being said, there are also other factors at play.
