‘NCIS’ season 12 spoilers: Marisol Nichols to return as Zoe Keates
Could Zoe Keates had a little bit more staying power on “NCIS” than many of the other women recently in Tony DiNozzo’s life? It is very well possible, at least based on what actress Marisol Nichols is saying right now.
Nichols posted the news on her Twitter account that she will be back for at least one more episode as the agent, who was a former work colleague of Tony’s in Philadelphia. While their relationship has not proved itself to be 100% romantic just yet, it does seem like the show is moving very much in that direction with the character.
We’re sure that reaction will probably be mixed to this news, mostly because it generally is at any point that we actually hear something in regards to Tony’s love life.
Still, there are not a whole lot of other details related to Nichols’ appearance just yet, but we will have a little bit more on that as it starts to become available. There are some big stories still to come this fall, and then the show will have a brief holiday hiatus before returning to kick things off once again early next year.
In the process, we really hope that the show manages to create something exciting, and gives us a significant adversary for Tony, Gibbs, and the rest of the team. We really don’t feel like we’ve had that since Parsa, and even he was not the most compelling person that we’ve seen on the show over the years.

I too am happy that Marisol Nichols is returning. I would love for Tony to be involved in a mostly off screen romantic relationship. The writers need to let the guy move on instead of holding him back with lame C and D plots, as they have for years and years. I would love to see Tony and Nichols’s character working a case together in a danger filled, suspenseful situation. Tony skills as a brave and resourceful agent haven’t been highlighted yet this season and it’s high time. We get it already – Gibbs is the bravest, the most tragic, the most cunning, the most significant, the most heroic, the most noble etc., etc., etc. We get super Gibbs every single week now. I get it! He walks on water. Can the writers please sacrifice one potential showcase for super Gibbs and let Tony shine as an agent for a rare change instead?

I For one am really looking forward to the return of Zoe Keats. I loved her interaction with Tony, she was a tough cookie, but she wasn’t insulting to Tony which I feel the precious Leia was. Also, I personally feel there are way too many Ziva connections this season and I believe it is because she will return later this year during sweeps or for the end of season. I think having Tony in a committed relationship with someone when she returns would make for an interesting story line. And if Ziva doesn’t return then I would be very happy to see Tony in a relationship with someone he truely cares about.
Please don’t take this post as a an anti or pro Ziva post as I am neither. I love Ziva but I feel cdp did what was best for HER. If Ziva comes back I will be very happy, but if she doesn’t I will not cry and yell at anyone like some other members of the fan base.
