‘Homeland’ season 4, episode 8 preview: Mandy Patinkin’s Saul fights for his freedom
The first few weeks on “Homeland” almost looked like Saul was going to remain somewhat of a minor character. However, that has already changed to a certain extent and then some.
The next new episode carries with it a pretty fascinating title in “Halfway to a Donut,” which makes us think that there are either everyday street cops involved, or someone producing baked goods. At the moment, we’re hoping a little more for the latter since we’re kind of hungry.
If you want some more news in terms of what you can expect, then take a look at the official synopsis below:
“Carrie organizes a last-ditch operation; Lockhart and Martha stall Pakistan’s Inter-Services-Intelligence.”
The good thing about Carrie is that she is one of the most intense people out there. If someone close to her is in danger, she will do almost everything in her power in order to ensure that she can get them free. There is still more than a third of the episodes still to go on Showtime before the story comes to a close, and this to us does mark an opportunity to tell some more than interesting plots.
The interesting thing about “Homeland” right now as a whole is pretty simple: Opinions could not be any more divided about the show’s progress. There are quite a few who really love the direction that the writers have taken, and feel like this is a real revelation for a show that struggled last year; meanwhile, others feel like the series never fully recovered from what it had in season 2.

I am really an ardent follower of the show “Homeland” but I would like to have another plot than “SAVE SAUL” or “CARRIE GETS IT TOGETHER”. There is nothing more than to see Carrie fall apart, then get it together….her going off track and always ending up frazzled from taking too many pills is getting to be redundant. Either fix her up and make her sane, to make her a more suave, and super genius agent who can tell someone spiked her drugs or replace her, cuz her character is just getting too wired all the time, it seems there is nothing more to expect from her…let her either fade off like Brody and bring someone else to take her part–like Quinn takes her role as central character and get on with the story. What I am saying is, this is good script, but Carrie’s character is already over-acting the hi-strung part to the point it is so embarassing that the USA cannot find anyone more competent to be in her position.
