‘The Mentalist’ season 7 spoilers: First details on premiere ‘Nothing but Blue Skies’

Based on the title for the season 7 premiere for “The Mentalist,” it seems like you are going to see Jane and Lisbon in a pretty good place. How else would you interpret a title like “Nothing but Blue Skies”? It’s pretty darn hard to imagine almost anything else right now!

Unfortunately, it does look like there is one small problem that will be an issue for the characters, and that is having to keep their relationship a secret … at least in the early going. They obviously don’t want to complicate matters much, and that will be a priority for them; in addition to that, it also feels like they are going to be forced to divert most of their attention somewhere else.

If you want to see some other details right now in terms of what you can expect, CBS has released the official synopsis below:

“Jane and Lisbon begin their new relationship, but they must hide their feelings for each other from their colleagues as they investigate the murder of an undercover agent. Also, young, ambitious agent Michelle Vega joins the team, on the seventh season premiere.”

Just in case you are wondering about the location of Agent Kim Fischer, Emily Swallow is no longer going to be a cast member on the show. It’s to be seen how they choose to write this character off, and this news is somewhat of a bummer, given that she was pretty essential for a while in the development of getting Patrick back to work with the FBI after he spent such a long period of time in hiding.
