‘The Fosters’ season 2 spoilers: New Christmas Special promo teases a Grinch, much more

If you love “The Fosters,” then we hope that you are the patient type. You know that the series on ABC Family has been making a Christmas Special for quite some time; in addition to that, you knew it was going to be airing on December 8.

Luckily, you now have something else to enjoy right now, even if it is short: The new promo below! The network put this online just this week, and it includes some Christmas cheer … and also a particular slam about the Grinch.

As for what you can expect story-wise, we’ve already said that Callie and Jude are going to be spending their first Christmas with the Fosters, but this is not going to be entirely smooth sailing. Callie is going to struggle with having the official label of “foster kid” put upon her, and this may cause her to lash out a few times throughout the episode.

Also, there will be questions of how many gifts are too many, traditions, and a house-decorating contest that goes completely awry. Given that this is the holiday season, we’ll be shocked if this is an episode devoid of happy notes. With a holiday episode, most of what you want to see are the characters you love engaging in the festivities, while dealing with a few issues in the process. In the end, though, you want it to be something that you can go back and watch years later, and still understand everything that is going on without having other episodes fresh in mind. This is at least our criteria, anyway.
