Is ‘Castle’ season 7, episode 6 new tonight, or preempted for ABC’s CMA special?

If you are reading this article at around 10:00 p.m. Eastern time tonight looking for a new “Castle” episode on ABC, we come as the bearers of bad news: There is not anything new coming up for the show this week.

The next new episode, entitled “Time of Our Lives,” will be back on the network in a week’s time, and trust us when we say that this is one definitely worth waiting for. Not only is there the whole “what if?” component of the story that could make for intriguing television, but to go along with that you have the much-anticipated wedding between Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic) that is many years in the making.

Now that we have said all of this, we definitely understand if some of you out there would still have a few more questions about this, including why the network would choose to not just air this tonight. The simple answer is that they have a CMA Award special that is airing, which features interviews between Robin Roberts and many of the people up for awards on Wednesday night. ABC and the Country Music Association have a very good relationship, and given the ratings that the show brings in, it is hardly a shock that they want to expound on that in some shape or form.

With this being said, one other silver lining for “Castle” fans is that you’re going to have fewer repeats moving forward this season. The first half of the season contains ten episodes, and then going into the new year, you still have another 13 or so to look forward to. That’s not so bad, right?
