‘NCIS’ season 12, episode 7 spoilers: First photo for ‘The Searchers’
“NCIS” fans, there is quite a bit to look forward to still this season! Unfortunately, you are going to be waiting for a long time to see some of it.
Due to the midterm elections coming up on Tuesday night, most of the primetime lineup is in repeats. Therefore, “The Searchers” is not going to be on until November 11, but the image above featuring McGee (Sean Murray), Jimmy (Brian Dietzen), and Abby (Pauley Perrette) is one of the first from this episode.
As with the majority of the promotional photos that CBS releases from this show, this really does not work to give away a whole lot when it comes to the story. What we can tell you is that there will be a case of charity fraud that especially infuriates Gibbs, and will be one of the primary focal points of the entire story.
Moving further into the season, what we really have here is a case of ambiguity. While we may see more of the story from the premiere picked up eventually, we’d actually like to see some more personal stories from Abby and McGee given that they are mentioned at times, but never really made into a huge part of the show. We’re still wondering, for example, when in the world we are going to see Delilah again.
Stay tuned, as we’re going to have some further updates related to the show as they become available. Hopefully, the wait is worth it!

What was going on in the preview of next week’s show with Gibbs and Bishop yelling at each other? Did she screw up and Gibbs want to fire her? The next episode will be one to definitely watch!

Where did you see the preview?

At the end of Tuesday’s episode on the 4th. “Here’s some scenes from our next episode.”
Gibbs says to Bishop, “I TOLD you to go around back!”
Another scene: Gibbs is yelling, angrily, at Bishop. He says something to the effect, “There’s something I want to say to you but you’re not going to like it!”
Bishop replies, yelling, “Go ahead and say it!”
Explosive episode coming next week! Don’t miss it!!!

Let me guess – we’ll see super Gibbs involved in any and all drama as well as saving the day while Tony does something stupid, humiliating, embarrassing or simply be completely insignificant.

Missed the end of Tuesday’s episode for the preview. I can’t find the preview anywhere else. Not ON DEMAND not on the internet. Don’t they usually have the preview of the next episode circulating by now? I wasn’t going to watch the next episode because I have been getting annoyed lately watching the “new” NCIS, which makes absolutely no sense as there are other shows on. Habits can be hard to break. But I admit I am curious to see Gibbs do more than pat Bishop on the head. Yelling you say? I can’t even imagine it. I might take a peek.

Well – Gibbs has to have a part in all the dramatic scenes and be the most significant person in every team members life so of course he will be the one to yell at Bishop. I’m sure they’ll make up and then we’ll see daddy Gibbs. He will no doubt also show the most compassion for victims and save the day as well at some point since he must always outshine everyone in every way these days. The guest stars and cast are just there to support the Mark Harmon show.

I kind of figured that they would make up too. The Bishop character is the most bizarre casting NCIS has ever made and that is saying something…EJ Barrett and Dr. Ryan anyone? Just don’t understand how a number one show can get sooo off track.

I think Bishop is supposedly getting her first performance review and is royally peed off about it. I don’t know about anyone else but it appears to me that everyone is really kind of sad on the show right now. I’m just wondering if they were really hoping that Cote would come back and maybe she has said no. Maybe that is what the message in the conversation between Abby and Tony about Ziva was supposed to convey – she isn’t coming back. Time will tell and yeah, my curiosity is piqued to see what Bishop and Gibbs were yelling about.

Yep these guys are looking sad. I feel bad that the rest of the cast was put in this situation and it is not Cote’s fault. Other people have left the show and the show continued to thrive. The way the showrunner handled her exit and the episodes since her departure has not allowed the characters to be themselves with subtle and not so subtle changes in their characters in order to give Bishop something to do. Thought I heard it in Abby’s voice when she said in one episode “So Bishop what did you find?” Normally it is Abby who goes to the extreme to find an answer (with McGee as backup) for Gibbs and now she just has to stand there. You can see the awkwardness when Bishop says a line that normally would have went to Abby or Tim. But the showrunner wants to change the show to his vision. Sad.

The team and the fans were not allowed to grieve the loss of Ziva. We weren’t supposed to notice that she was gone. In reality, the team may not have noticed but the fans did.

That preview has been removed. It is nowhere to be found. I didn’t see it and now I’m curious. Is this another trick to get me to watch? If the show is well written, I will watch. Trying to trick me will only be counterproductive.

Jeez O’Pete! I’m sorry I even posted here asking a question, and wasn’t trying to “trick” someone into watching a show they don’t want to watch.
Please disregard my other posts in this thread.

I finally saw the preview “The Searchers” at the end of Page Not Found(ON DEMAND) which was shown last Tuesday. Who thinks Gibbs really will fire Bishop? One can only hope.

Thank goodness someone else has seen the preview! I was beginning to worry about my sanity and whether or not I had actually saw it, or dreamed it. It will be interesting to find out what happened.
Bishop’s voice is at a frequency I have trouble hearing, and most of the time I cannot understand what she is saying. I have taken to wearing my electronic shooting earmuffs when watching the show. And, I also think she is a weak character.

Season 12 is definitely an improvement over season 11. I like the fact that supporting characters like Jimmy Palmer are getting more screen time. I agree with the other commenters though that Tony’s character development seems to have regressed. As amusing as his antics are to watch I hate the writing that makes him seem 2 dimensional. Michael Weatherly is an superb actor and should be allowed to show off his skill set. They need to rectify the misstep they made when Ellie Bishop was brought on board. McGee and Dinozzo had excellent chemistry together as a duo.

I was so hopeful that this season would have something new or better to offer than last, but sadly, it’s more of the same as last season. When Ziva left, it’s like these characters that were dynamic alone and together just missed a step and have yet to recover. Gibbs walks around looking silent, bitter, and brooding. Tony is back to silly, flirty, 19 year old frat boy and the whole story with him “growing” and going to men’s group, etc. has not a ring of truth to it. McGee seems to be the token grown up in the group now, since everyone else is out to lunch, and I almost laugh when Tony and Ellie draw their weapons and prepare to kick open a door. It’s laughable and not in the least bit believeable. When Tony and Ziva used to do this, it had a strength and resolve to it, like Kensi and Deeks on NCIS:LA, but Tony’s heart isn’t in it and Ellie seems like a problem solver, but in no way seems like law enforcement of any kind. Also, these dark-haired, sassy Ziva-clones are beyond ridiculous and Tony has NO chemistry with any of them. He had more chemistry with Jeanne that these characters whom we fans are totally not invested in. The thing that bugs me is Abby. She had all kinds of feelings and sadness after Kate, lamenting that friendship, but all she ever says about Ziva is “she’s gone” if she even acknowledges her at all. It’s clear that this whole group, actors, writers, producers, has NO idea that this show is a shell of what it used to be, and that people are still tuning in hoping to see something different, and we can somehow get our favorite show back.

Currently watching season 3, There used to be so much more warmth and wonderful interaction between the characters. I keep hoping that they will get that back. That is what made this show so special.

The warmth ended when Shane Brennan took over and Ziva and Gibbs were the only ones allowed to be brave and competent the huge majority of the time. Suddenly, it was the holier than thou Gibbs and Ziva show and no one else garnered much professional respect. Vance replaced Tony as Gibbs’s confidante and there just isn’t much chemistry or warmth there no matter how many common tragedies the writers continue to give them. There also used to be a LOT more action/hero Tony. Now all he does is flirt and mop up after super Gibbs prevails again.
What I’d like to see this season is an arc where Tony goes under cover and is involved in a danger filled, suspenseful story in which we see him use his unorthodox cleverness to handle situations, while the rest of the team works to support the operation. They would all make contributions like in Chained or Bait. Not just a one and done, but a big story. The writers could just write a typical Gibbs arc and then insert Tony instead. It would be less boring and more fun because it would feature Tony, who can do drama AND humor, in the eye of the storm instead of Gibbs for a nice change.

I agree. They need to give Tony more to do and to show off Michael’s acting skills. I do love the drama and humour that he can do both as Dinozzo and himself. Maybe, just maybe, I’m holding my breathe here, they’ll give him an important part when the Russian baddie rears up again. I have enjoyed some of the episodes this season but I feel that this season so far has been rather disjointed with all the different storylines. They started off with a Russian bad guy that you assume was going to play a major role for at least a few episodes but he has disappeared in among all these back stories. With the mention of his connection to Ari Haswari, Ziva’s half brother, that has opened up the possible Ziva return connection again which I don’t think is fair because in the last episode with the Ziva conversation between Tony and Abby you get the feeling Ziva will not come back at all. If they are trying to create suspense for a possible Ziva return they are failing miserably and it will just create a fan back lash. I do hope that all this leads to something bigger for later in the season. I also agree that it is way beyond time for Tony to stop being flirt and have a proper relationship with a woman but I want it to be a background story not a major episode topic. The agent he met in last week’s episode Marisa Nicols (?) wasn’t too bad since her character is supposed to be someone from Tony’s past. She definitely has possibilities. Time will tell for the future of this show.

I had some trouble with Abby telling Tony that he had to move on. I just finished watching the ep where Abby was stalked by an old boyfriend who was a crime seen cleaner. Even she admitted that he was not a good choice. Then she had another boyfriend to whom she gave two black eyes because she was sleeping in his living room when he road her Harley Fat Boy motercyle through the living room. Then she split up with nice guy, a little person, because he was too short. I don’t think that she should be giving dating advice to anyone.

She split up with the little person because in real life he committed suicide. That being said you are right about her choice of boyfriends. She doesn’t have good judgement. When Abby is talking to Tony about letting Ziva go, I think she is expressing her anger over Ziva leaving especially without saying a proper good-bye. Abby feels that Ziva just deserted the team.

They could have handled the loss of Michael Gilden’s death differently. They could have said that he thought that Abby was too tall for him. Instead, it seemed like Abby was shallow. And you are right, Abby seems very angry talking about Ziva. Tony comes across very nice, gentle. Maybe he should have been helping her with her anger. When I posted my thoughts on another site, everyone seemed to think that Abby was doing the right thing telling Tony to move on. Of course we don’t know what Abby knows about why Ziva left. I think that Tony is coping well and that he will know when it is time to move on.

I agree that a lot of the warmth between the characters is gone. I enjoyed seasons 7-10 the best for that. After Ziva was rescued from Somalia I noticed a real cohesiveness develop between her and the guys. They really solidified as a family at that point. She became their little sister so to speak. I loved the banter the characters used to have at the start of the show, always teasing each other about something. NCIS LA still does that quite well and it is starting to come together for NCIS NO. The writers lost their footing with this after Cote left and can’t seem to fit that dimension back in with Bishop.
