‘Arrow’ season 3, episode 5 spoilers: See a very different side to Felicity Smoak
Who knew that Felicity Smoak had such a heavy goth phase? There are many different secrets and stories that are going to unravel on Wednesday night’s new “Arrow” episode entitled “The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak,” and one of them is going to be how her past included a very different side of her while she was studying at MIT.
Can we really be that surprised about any of this? Probably not, given that most people who are socially awkward do try a few different things over the course of their lives in an effort to fit in a little bit more. For Felicity, this was really a chance for her to figure out if she was going to have a place in the sun in this community. Clearly, whatever happened here was enough to make her realize that she did not want to be a part of this in the long-term.
Who is the man in this picture? That is “Glee” and “Awkward” alum Nolan Funk, who is going to be appearing here as an ex from Felicity’s time at school. Seemingly, he may not be the nicest guy in the world. Just the way he looks at her in this photo is a little bit pushy.
By the end of this episode, hopefully we are going to have more in the way of insight into not only who Felicity was then, but who she is today. Also, hopefully in the process she’ll assert herself even more with the team, and make some big moves with Ray Palmer, as well. We love Olicity, but there needs to be a moment where Oliver realizes that he is willing to risk it all to be with her.
