‘The Amazing Race 25’ episode 6 review: Did Jim & Misti return to form in Morocco?
Tonight, “The Amazing Race” aired another episode in Morocco, and it was one that by and large convinced us that this may be one of the more likable casts that we have had on the show to date.
For a few episodes now, the series has tried to convince us to be terrified of Jim & Misti. They’re so intense! However, there is something that we’ve seem from him that impresses us. He treats his wife as a real equal, which you don’t often get on this show. He’s let her do multiple Roadblocks now, and seems completely supportive of her throughout the entire process. Is he a little cocky? Sure, but we feel like this relationship is so sound, they may be one of the best couples that the show has seen. Another first-place finish is further proof of that.
While there were many fun tasks that further emphasized the good players this season (Adam & Bethany, Kym & Alli), the real thing that we learned in this episode is that if you are terrible at directions, you’re screwed. Shelley & Nici completely stunk up the place in this regard, and Amy & Maya (who we like, but have been relatively invisible) were not that far ahead of them.
In the end, though, this was just a case where team #MomDaughter managed to bungle almost everything when it comes to getting to the Detour that their last-place finish was inevitable. They were good entertainment, but they just couldn’t figure out the navigation. It’s a shame for them, really; had they been a little faster, they could have picked the right Detour and gotten an edge (the milking seemed to take way longer). Grade: B+.
