‘The Newsroom’ season 3 video: Sam Waterston’s Charlie Skinner takes center stage

The publicity train for “The Newsroom” season 3 continues today, and with that, we’ve got a video of highlights below featuring someone who happens to be one of our personal favorite characters in Charlie Skinner.

In the video, you can see what is basically a wide array of highlights from Sam Waterston over the past two seasons of the show, which will really amaze you when it comes to just how many times this guy gets really angry and swears. (Yes, there is some pretty strong language in the video.) Does this prove that Charlie is an underrated character? We certainly think so. It also proves just how amazing it is that this guy has not suffered a heart attack at any point on the run of the show so far.

As for what we imagine being some of the primary story for the character moving into season 3, it will likely be tied into some of the overall operations of ACN and “News Night” as a whole right now. After all, you have to remember that this show is not in a good place right now. In the wake of Operation Genoa, the network has gone extremely conservative when it comes to their reporting, unless they are 100% that the sources are correct. Therefore, they start out in the precarious position of last, and have to figure out how to recover.

As you would expect, the moves the rest of the way to improve the brand are going to be very challenging.
