‘Hawaii Five-0’ season 5 spoilers: Original Five for Fighting song coming in 100th episode

Hawaii Five-0 -Just in case you were not excited enough for the upcoming 100th episode of “Hawaii Five-0,” there is another something in particular to look forward to now: A brand-new song from a very popular music group in Five for Fighting.

The group is behind such hits as “100 Years” and “Superman (It’s Not Easy),” and showrunner Peter Lenkov and Amy Osler, Senior Vice-President of Music for CBS TV Studios, had previously reached out to the group and its frontman John Ondrasik in hopes of using a previously-unreleased track for the episode. However, what they got was so much more than that.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Lenkov describes the experience of getting an all-new song entitled “All for One” that will play at the end of the episode:

“We got around to talking and the question came up, ‘What if he actually wrote an original song?’ In the script I was very specific with what the music would accompany. He basically wrote what I consider almost the theme song to the show — something that really highlights themes of the show and the spirit of ‘ohana [Hawaiian for ‘family’] and the bonds of friendship. He captured it all in three-and-half minutes.”

One of the things that we have always given this show in particular some credit for is consistently finding way to be on the cutting edge, and to get perhaps some big gets that other shows would not. They’re also not afraid to take risks; just take a look at some of their guest-stars, or that fan-built episode that aired on CBS last season.
