‘Game of Thrones’ season 5 spoilers: ‘Lost’ actor (of Mr. Eko fame) joins

Game of Thrones -Whatever happened to Mr. Eko from “Lost”? This is a question that we long wondered. We loved Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje in the role, but after he took part in the ABC show, we haven’t seen him since in nearly as much stuff as we would like.

Well, that may be at least somewhat changing when it comes to “Game of Thrones” season 5. As first published by The Hollywood Reporter, Akinnuoye-Agbaje will play a character on the HBO titan known as Malko, who is not a part of the George R.R. Martin book series. So who could he be? It’s pretty hard to speculate given the limited information, but our guess is that this is one of those characters created in adaptations to try to combine the stories of many others who will not be in the TV series. When you look at the George R.R. Martin book A Feast For Crows, for example, there are so many characters that have not been a part of the series yet. It’s impossible to include all of them on the show. This may be a way to get the essence of some of them on here, without at the same time making the show completely bogged down.

Filming for “Game of Thrones” has been underway for some time now, and the series has already filmed in a variety of interesting locations. They’ve already been to Croatia (the site of King’s Landing), and also are working hard in Spain for what is most likely to be the land of Dorne on the show. (There’s a pretty funny story involving Nikolaj Coster-Waldau that you can read here.)

There’s no premiere date for season 5 just yet, but once again, it’s going to be either late March or early April. HBO is not a show that tends to mess around when it comes to moving “Game of Thrones” into an unfamiliar spot.
