‘Chicago Fire’ season 3, episode 4 preview: Dawson prepares for her first fire

At the end of last week’s “Chicago Fire” episode, Dawson was given what is a pretty notable promotion so that she can finally be out in the field.

However, she is about to discover that not everything out there is as it is cracked up to be. This first fire for her is going to be a difficult one, and for a variety of different reasons ranging from the conditions to the sheer enormity of the situation. This the largest fire that we’ve encountered since the premiere, which took the life of one of the most-popular characters on the show in Shay.

Do we feel like we are going to see Dawson eventually find her way in this world? Probably, but this is going to be the sort of thing that does take a little bit of time for her. These are people who have been on the job for years, and that’s not something that you can completely catch up on overnight.

In the end, what we are really hoping for right now above all else is that she starts to get the hang of this eventually, and all of course characters continue to adjust to their new reality. For some of them, that is going to be more difficult than others. After all, we know already that there is going to be a major plotline for Severide, given that he is struggling the most with Shay’s exit, and could very well have to fight for his life by the time this hour comes to a close.

Tomorrow night, we’ll have a full review for this episode. Be on the lookout for that!
