NBC’s ‘The Voice’ preview: Craig Wayne Boyd takes on James David Carter

What do Craig Wayne Boyd and James David Carter have in common? Well, they are for one fond of giving you their full names. They’re also two guys who are going to be squaring off against each other on the new episode of “The Voice” airing on NBC Monday night.

In the sneak peek below, though, you really don’t get that much of a sense of what either one of them is going to be bringing to the table. Instead, this video is a little bit more about the two getting to see Blake Shelton and Little Bit Town goof off with each other. Why in the world do we, or they, care about this? Basically, it shows off the environment that either one of them could be a part of in the event they make it far enough in the competition.

We will give Blake some credit here, since he’s not the sort of guy who big-times the artists who he has on his teams over the years. He hired Gwen Sebastian to be a part of his touring band, and has performed with and supported Cassadee Pope long after the end of the season. This is more or less the sort of guy who you want in your corner long after filming ends, even if he is a very busy guy and he can’t walk you through every step of the recording process.
