‘Scorpion’ episode 4: See Robert Patrick, Katharine McPhee, more discuss show

Tomorrow night, there will be another new episode of “Scorpion” airing on CBS, but rather than presenting the typical preview that we would in this position, why not do something a little bit different for a change?

In the video below, you can take what is a deeper look behind the scenes at the still-new CBS series, especially when it comes to what makes so many of these geniuses and those around them tick. Robert Patrick, Katharine McPhee, some of the producers and more speak out about a variety of subjects, and hopefully, all of this is a further incentive to continue watching if you were not interested in doing so in the first place.

So far, it feels like this show particularly benefited heavily from airing after “The Big Bang Theory,” especially when you remember that the themes of the show are not that far apart (even if they belong to different genres). What we are curious about now, even more so than how it fares this coming week, is what happens when the show actually separates itself from the flagship comedy later in the fall. This will be the first real test, but we still believe it has a great shot of getting at least a back nine, let alone a second season.

One other reason we think that is simple: The competition. There are not a whole lot of other programs similar to it at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time, which is far and away different from what happens an hour later on the network.
