‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: How will Nyssa handle Sara Lance shocker?

Of course, we start this “Arrow” article off right now with a massive warning: If you haven’t seen the season 3 premiere just yet, you should really stop reading this article. Why else would you continue to subject yourself to so much torture?

Now, we turn to one of the biggest questions out there in the wake of Sara Lance’s death: How in the world is Nyssa al Ghul going to handle it? We like to think of her as Sara’s great love; she found a sense of comfort with her, and never felt like she could be anything other than herself. With that in mind, you have to assume that when Katrina Law’s character returns to the show, this will be a significant part of the story.

Speaking (per “Access Hollywood“) at a recent screening, executive producer Marc Guggenheim made it clear that when we see Nyssa, there is a good bit to explore here.

“Her finding out that Sara’s dead is going to be a big deal. And we love Katrina and we love the character of Nyssa and I actually feel like with Sara’s death, Nyssa becomes so much more important because I feel like, one thing I do think that Sara did was provide us a cool, ass kicking female character on the show and Nyssa definitely fits that bill quite well.”

Of course, there is another obvious reason to use Law early and often on the show: Ra’s al Ghul. With him serving as a Big Bad for the season, there is quite a bit of insight on him that could be gleamed from spending time around her.
