‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 11, episode 3 preview: Callie and Owen’s latest struggle

We certainly get how Owen may be feeling some complicated emotions on “Grey’s Anatomy” right now. Just think about that for a minute. It was only a matter of a few months ago where the love of his life (at least so far) in Cristina decided to leave Seattle for Switzerland, and he has to figure out a way to put together the pieces of his life.

With that in mind, it’s certainly understandable that in an effort to give himself a little bit of hope, he would turn to trying to make the hopes and dreams of soldiers come true … at least in terms of living a better life after suffering an amputation. In the sneak peek below for Thursday’s episode, this dream becomes a nightmare when he and Callie have a very different opinion about a particular soldier and their hope to ever walk again.

Owen wants to give hope to the hopeless, but the reality is that sometimes, this is not a good way to handle things. The last thing you ever want to do is give someone false hope that everything is going to be okay, especially when you very well know that there are things that could go wrong. Callie blames Owen for having to crush a poor soldier who has already been through a lot, and only due to the fact that he was probably not clear enough about his chances of an artificial limb in the first place.

We’re glad to see Owen have a larger storyline for the time being, and we’ll just have to wait and see where it goes from here.
