‘NCIS’ season 12, episode 3 video: See Ducky, Bishop, and more in ‘So It Goes’

Next week, “NCIS” is getting ready to unleash what may be seen to some as a treat: The opportunity to see a different side of Ducky that we have before. This version of the character is charming, ambitious, and not so settled into a job that he has held for well over a decade.

“So It Goes” should be a good episode for anyone who likes David McCallum, and the only question we really have here is why this is not something that had been explored a little earlier. The show has had numerous opportunities to visit the Ducky well (or the duck pond?), but they have continually went in some other directions.

We don’t expect anything that happens here to be altogether something that we’re sitting around and expecting more from weeks from now. It’s probably just going to be an isolated opportunity to get to know the character a little bit better, and we are by and large okay with that. All we know is that we learn a little something more about him in here, whether that be why he ended up working for NCIS, why he wear bow ties, or some of his personal history with friends or relationships.

Hopefully, this also leads to many more specific character stories this year. We just had one that largely revolved around Vance, and we know that there is at least one coming for Tony. Hopefully, this means that there will be an Abby one at some point in the near future, as well.
