‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ review: Teresa Giudice, Jim, Bobby, and Kevin Jonas
We have a hard time trying to figure out how we feel about Sunday night’s “Real Housewives of New Jersey,” mostly because it still feels like we are watching a tale of two shows.
On one side of the coin, we have a pretty interesting tale that is all about Teresa Giduice’s struggle to rebuild friendships and figure out who she really is, while at the same time dealing with the possibility of prison time weighing over her head. That led to her examining her friendship with Jacqueline Laurita, but what was fairly awkward about all of this was that the two spent a whole lot of time sitting around talking about each other, and no real time actually talking with each other.
Instead, the saddest moment in here was seeing Jacqueline speak out further about her autistic son, and how emotional and difficult this is for her.
Meanwhile, the entire story in Florida revolved mostly around Amber Marchese and Jim, who at first were very excited to be away from their children. However, not too long after that, we soon learned that what we really had here was a back-and-forth over rumors that included Nicole, Bobby, shouting, and glass-throwing. This story was a massive hot mess, and this was more like a classic chapter in a “Real Housewives” story. Meanwhile, the other plot in New Jersey felt like something different and evolved. We’re more attached to some of these characters, and we are therefore much more interested in their journey. Grade: B-.
