‘Reign’ season 2 spoilers: ‘Coronation,’ and hard questions for Mary
As the story progresses on “Reign” season 2, in many ways the decisions Mary makes are going to become harder and harder. She has to figure out whether or not she will be able to handle a country riddled by plague and famine, and also the reality of Francis’ past coming back to haunt him early in the season.
By the time we get to the third episode of the season (airing October 16) entitled “Coronation,” some of these stories may be coming to a head. Not only that, but we will see some characters, especially Catherine, go a little overboard in an attempt to convince everyone that there are no problems at all with the current state of France. For more on that, just take a look at the official synopsis:
“With France in a state of famine, as well as religious and political unrest, Mary (Adelaide Kane) looks for a way to feed the people, risking the wrath of a vengeful Lord Narcisse (guest star Craig Parker). Francis (Toby Regbo) is preoccupied by the harrowing suspicion that his dead father’s spirit can possess the living and is haunting Francis as revenge for his murder. As Catherine (Megan Follows) makes excessive and lavish preparations for a coronation ceremony to give the impression of stability to the realm, Bash (Torrance Coombs) confronts the reality of a country plagued by fear, bankruptcy, and murder.”
The second season of “Reign” premieres in less than a week now on October 2, and be prepared for problems on the throne to become a common theme of the story. While Mary can celebrate having more power this year, she also needs to learn how to properly wield it. This will be a learning experience, to say the least.
