‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 11, episode 1 video: Watch an Ellen Pompeo sneak peek

Clearly, “Grey’s Anatomy” wants to set up the relationship between Meredith and Maggie as something so dramatic, it will blow their minds when it is finally revealed that the two characters actually learn that they are related.

In the latest sneak-peek video below, you can get a real idea of what we are talking about. While the common link between the two in Richard Webber listens in, Meredith and Maggie fight with one another, and this eventually leads to the two parties coming to a pretty easy conclusion: They do not like each other at all.

Don’t you think that this is going to be awkward? You better believe it, and it is just another layer of drama to add to everything else that Ellen Pompeo’s character is going to be doing moving forward on the show. She already has to deal with the extremely-dramatic situation of her marriage with Derek, and that will be one of the many other things that weigh heavily on her going deeper into the season.

Eventually, we do expect the truth about Maggie to come out, but there’s really no rush here at all. Remember that you are looking at a series that will run for an incredible 24 episodes, and you’ve got to find a way to fill up that with as much story as humanly possible. It makes sense to drop some hints, but then save the big reveal for a while.
