‘Survivor: San Juan del Sur’ castaway spotlight: Will Kelley Wentworth be an underdog?

Kelley -We are just about to the end of our “Survivor: San Juan del Sur” castaway spotlight series, and with the today, we are focusing on someone who could be an interesting person to watch over the course of the next few months in Kelley Wentworth.

From one vantage point, she is the archetype of the farmer’s daughter, and you would expect her to be hard-working, but also fairly reserved. However, she’s a farmer’s daughter who left the farm to be in the big city, and she has a number of traits from that she could use to her advantage in this game.

Name – Kelley Wentworth

Age – 28

Location – Seattle, Washington

Occupation – Marketing manager

Strengths – She’s worked very hard for everything in her life, and that work ethic could translate well over to the game. She’s used to being a team leader thanks to her job, and she can be a mover and a shaker in the game without ever getting a target on her back. She seems friendly and easy to get along with, which makes her an easy alliance member in the early going.

Weaknesses – We would not say she is the most physically imposing person around, and if her tribe loses a ton of challenges early, she could be a target for that. Also, we do wonder if her relationship with her dad could be a distraction. She claims that their relationship has had “ups and downs” over the years, and while sometimes that translates well into the game (already overcoming adversity), it can be a distraction.

Past “Survivor” comparison – We hate it when people compare themselves to Parvati Shallow. It almost makes us think that they have never really watched the show, and this is just someone easy to name. We do see a little of another “Survivor” great in Kim Spradlin in her, and we’d maybe combine her with Katie Collins, another small-town girl who moved to a big city.

Prediction – We don’t feel like Kelley has the killer instinct necessarily to be the great player that Kim was, but she does have some of the same social skills. We already predicted her to go to the final two and lose, and we feel pretty good about that. So long as she’s not one of the first few boots, both she and her dad could make big waves this season.

We have one more spotlight to get through tomorrow, so be on the lookout for that! Also, click here if you want to get further TV updates from us at CarterMatt sent right to your email inbox.
