‘Two and a Half Men’ season 12: Charlie Sheen hopes for return before series finale

It begins -Could Charlie Sheen really make an appearance on “Two and a Half Men” before the series ends? To date, the answer to this appears to have been pretty clear: It’s not happening.

However, couldn’t that change? Charlie Sheen certainly wants to see a situation play out where Charlie Harper makes one last hurrah. Speaking to TV Guide in a new interview, he confirmed that he has at least made an effort to come back on the CBS series before the final curtain drops:

“I’ve reached out to them and they’ve reached back … We’re trying to figure out what makes the most sense. If they figure it out like I’ve presented it to them and they want to include me in some final send-off, I’m available and I’m showing up early. If not, it’s on them.”

We do ultimately feel like Sheen will return to the show, mostly for a couple of reasons.

  1. Despite whatever denials CBS or show guru Chuck Lorre may give, this would be a nice show of goodwill, and an Easter egg to all who have watched from the beginning. It would also be a big ratings draw to get him back for an episode near the end, and everyone knows networks want ratings.
  2. Even if the network continues to deny this, remember that up until the very end of “The Office,” Steve Carell showed very little interest in returning. Then, he eventually did make one last appearance as Michael Scott, and it ended up being the best moment of the entire finale.

Tell us: Do you think that Charlie should be back for at least one final “Two and a Half Men” send-off? Could he help the show draw better numbers?
