‘Big Brother 16’ exclusive: Caleb Reynolds on eviction, Amber, ‘Beast Mode Cowboy’ label
Whether you loved Caleb or hated him on “Big Brother 16,” there is little questioning that the man was a big character. He told a variety of tall tales, fell crazy in love for a woman who didn’t love him back, and eventually came up with a variety of different nicknames to go along with “Beast Mode Cowboy,” which became almost synonymous with him by the end. (Just don’t look it up on Urban Dictionary.)
Caleb may have been reeling still from the shock of his eviction when answering our email questions today; he went into detail once or twice, and then resorted to yes / no answers at other points.
CarterMatt – How are you feeling now that you are out of the game? Are you proud of how far you went, or disappointed you were eliminated so close to the end?
Caleb Reynolds – I am very proud of myself for making it to the point that I did. It is not often that you see a big competitor with 7 or 8 wins make it to the end. So the fact that I made it to the final 4 with two of my closest friends in the house, I’d say I accomplished a lot this season. But, it does suck a little to get evicted so close to the end. But my motto is: everything happens for a reason.
Looking back, is there anything you think you could have done this week to save yourself, other than win the Power of Veto?
No.
If you had won the final Head of Household, would you have taken Derrick over Cody 100%?
Yes.
I know you haven’t seen Amber for a while now, but do you still have the same strong feelings for her that you did when she was in the house with you?
Yeah, I miss her.
Finally, let’s talk about ‘Beast Mode Cowboy.’ What’s the origin story of the nickname? Did you come up with it, or did someone else?
Derrick actually gave me that name after my first HOH win on the [spit].

Caleb is misunderstood. I just watched his videos on youtube for The Voice and he can REALLY SING! He is a triple threat: talented, hot and athletic. Plus, he is a soldier who has risked his life defending the U.S. Some people online have said some negative things about Caleb stretching the truth while he appeared on the Live TV Show BigBrother, which was taped for 90 plus days, 24 hrs. a day. BigBrother is a show where people lie to one another to win $500,000. Of course, Caleb exaggerated or lied as an attempt to get people to like him and gain houseguest favor, but not to be malicious. I watched the BigBrother live feeds and yes Caleb may be naive, trustworthy and honorable to a fault for the purpose of winning that show, but when did these qualities become undesirable? BigBrother had 16 different houseguests each possessing both positive and negative traits, but if there were a compilation and comparison of these attributes, it is Caleb, who has the “true heart of gold”!

I think “on the [spot]” should be “on the [spit],” the barbecue spit he won his first HOH on. Although he had his flaws, Caleb was at least entertaining at times. The house is so quiet and dull now.

I am happy that he is gone. However, I think that I would have preferred to see Victoria evicted first.
