ABC’s ‘Revenge’ season 4 spoilers: See Emily VanCamp, Madeleine Stowe in epic trailer

“Revenge” season 4 is inching ever closer to its September 28 premiere date, and there is one thing that the just-released trailer wants you to know: There are some very intense times ahead.

There are some moments in here that you have already seen in other trailers, including the classic “Emily Thorne, I’m coming for you” line, but the flashes of various images at the end has a nice effect to it. In here, you can see violence, suspense, romance, and so much more.

Ultimately, though, this trailer reminds us that at this point, the show is as much the story of Victoria (Madeleine Stowe) as it is Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp). She is the character now who has lost everything, and will try what she can to get some of her life back. It may be harder to root for someone who is a villain, but we are all fooling ourselves on a ridiculous level if we sit here and proclaim that Emily is a complete hero. Just the idea of vengeance itself via death is not a super-heroic quality. She has always been more of a vigilante, and now it is someone else’s turn to run with that title.

This premiere will hopefully establish if Victoria can get out of the asylum, and if she does, what sort of trouble remains on the other side for Emily and company. She has quite a bit of work to do to make things right for her, and there is still one other shocker waiting in the wings: David Clarke is still alive.
