‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ review: Is Teresa Giudice drama making for captivating TV?
Sunday night, Bravo aired its latest episode of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey,” and we are definitely still continuing to hold the same feelings about this season that we have so far: It’s awkward … incredibly awkward.
At the same time, we also admit that there is a certain level of fascination about it all. We feel for a certain extent for Teresa Giudice, or at least as much as we can given that she put herself into this position where she had to enter a guilty plea for various crimes, and she continues to be a on reality TV show. She probably does need the show for money to a certain degree, especially for the promotional platform that comes with it.
So in the end, it is somewhat weird because you get the feeling that Teresa really doesn’t want to talk about all of her legal woes on-camera, especially in those discussions with Amber Marchese. (Plus, we know that Amber has gotten in some drama about gossip already this season.)
Still, we are glad to see that the show is trying to still give us some of the fun storylines, this time in the form of watching Melissa Gorga talking constantly about her new house with Joe. These two are a constant source of comedy when they are not in family fights, and we’ve enjoyed them so much more this year than in seasons past.
We’ll have to see where the rest of the season goes, but this is a step in the right direction. Grade: B.
