‘NCIS’ season 12: Michael Weatherly on missing Cote de Pablo, another ‘New Orleans’ crossover
What’s better than a Q&A from Michael Weatherly? Seeing the “NCIS” star do one on Twitter at four in the morning! The actor prepares for the day at an insane hour, and found some time in there to touch on some questions that other night owls (or just people from other parts of the world) had.
One thing that should make “Tiva” fans happy? That Michael misses working with Cote de Pablo “every day,” but he is happy that “she is doing wonderful things.” Clearly, Michael would have no problem seeing Cote return to the show, and maybe it will happen at some point. She does have another CBS project coming in the “Dovekeepers” miniseries. We feel like if he or other producers on the show had no interest in ever bringing her back, they just wouldn’t talk about it. A good example of this? Every time someone suggests to Shonda Rhimes a Katherine Heigl return to “Grey’s Anatomy,” she quickly shuts it down.
As for some other interest news from this Q&A, Weatherly confirmed that he would be spending some time with “NCIS: New Orleans” star Scott Bakula on the set today. This means that another crossover episode is on the way, and we definitely cannot blame the shows for doing this. It benefits the new series to get as many crossover viewers as possible, and for the most part, some of these characters are already in the “NCIS” world anyway thanks to “Crescent City” from last season.
The “NCIS” premiere airs on September 23, and Weatherly described that episode in one word as “eclectic.” If you want to get more news on that and so much more right now, head over to the link here! Season 11 was not good. Bishop is not my cup of tea.

This season just did not do it. I would not believe one character could be detrimental to a show but Bishop is. Emily Wickersham might be a nice person but she is over her head in this role.

Tuesday night is no longer must see TV on CBS. The other actors and Actress try hard but they can not over come the Bishop character’s poor writing and the Emily Wickersham is pulling me in to watch it.

It is so easy GG has to take the bone called phone in his hand dial the right number and speak with Cote. By the way the only way to get reputation back. His reputation is not likes Bishops on the floor his is under.

There is still avoid in NCIS that Bishop/Wickersham has not successfully filled. My family and I Liked Ziva/Cote 5 minutes in to her first scene and Bishop/Wickersham has had 16. She is not doing it and wish she would be written off. CBS please bring back Cote de Pablo as Ziva David.

As much as many of us don’t like it, we have to accept the fact that Cote is gone from the show and has moved on. She obviously has, given her role in “The 33” and now the upcoming “The Dovekeepers”. While I miss her on NCIS, I thank her for the eight wonderful years as “Ziva” and still wish her the best. She hasn’t given any indication of wanting to return anytime soon despite hints from Michael and Gary in other posts that the characters may cross paths again. We have to remember that actors are real people and sometimes need to make changes in their lives just as we often need to do, which can sometimes mean leaving a cherished role in a show they’ve had for some time. Even though Cote said she hadn’t planned to leave NCIS (at least for season 11) she obviously realized what was on the table wasn’t going to work for her. She may have asked for changes to her character to accommodate some things in her life and they may have said no and she didn’t like that. Or they may have asked things of her that she felt wasn’t in her best interest. I give her full kudos for standing up for herself. Even though there has been lots of conversation about money with her contract there are all sorts of other things too. They may have thought by offering her a larger salary to compensate for other demands would counteract whatever but she said no. She left for personal reasons so that says to me they were asking things of her that she felt she couldn’t compromise on. TV shows are a business and have their share of problems and politics like any other workplace so sometimes the best course of action is to leave. Noone can force Cote to return. She has to want to and be able to work things out with CBS and the showrunners. I think all the protests are actually disrespectful of the actress’s wishes. We should be wishing her well instead. While season 11 was definitely not one of the best by far I’m willing to give season 12 a shot to see what changes have been made now that the dust has settled. As viewers we have a choice. If you like a show watch, if not watch something else.

Why would Ms. de Pablo ask you to stop? She’s getting a lot of free publicity.

Well, money isn’t everything in a contract…..just look at what Michael Weatherly got with his contract, a production company. As for Cote de Pablo, she did state that she’s open to making guest appearances….so it sounds like the ball’s in CBS’ corner. And like actors and actresses on other shows, Cote can come back. :-)

I agree that there is definitely a chance that Cote would return as a guest star. Michael and Glasberg have hinted as much in other posts. It would have been something to have been a fly on the wall when Cote was having her negotiation discussions though to know what went down that made her walk. I have come across on Youtube bits and pieces of other interviews and it sounded like Cote was prepared to leave if it came to that.
