‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 8 spoilers: Show boss on Raj, Emily story

For those of you who love the Raj character on “The Big Bang Theory,” it feels like there is good news to report from his personal life entering season 8: He is still in a good place!

We met his new love interest Emily (Laura Spencer) late last season, and despite some early stumbles, the two have found a way to make something work … at least for now. Per executive Steve Molaro’s new chat with TVLine, that feeling of happiness in his relationship is something that will continue through at least the early part of the season:

“He’s very much in the giddy, ‘OK, I have a girlfriend and she’s really cute and she likes me phase. And I get to see her naked.’ They are still in the honeymoon of that. And as we got through the season, we will explore more of her personality and what she’s really like.”

There could be some fun in this particular realm of finding out more about Emily, and we still feel like the biggest stumbling block for the show may simply be this: How exciting is it to have a show where all four of your main male characters are in relationships? That’s why we feel like it has taken so long for Raj to find someone in the first place, since it’s always nice to have that one character who has it a little harder than everyone else.

The first two episodes of season 8 seem to be focused more on other characters than Raj. The premiere revolves around Sheldon finding his way back to California with help from Leonard, while the second episode may revolve around him finding a way to get back into work again.
