‘The Good Wife’ season 6: CBS tries to make football scheduling easier
Anyone who watches Sunday-night programming on CBS knows how frustrating the scheduling can be sometimes. NFL football almost always seems to run past its expected end time, which means that some of your favorite programs air late almost every other week. For the show in the 10:00 p.m. Eastern timeslot (which was “The Mentalist” last year), that was particularly brutal since there were times when you would not air until almost 11:00. At one point, the schedule was so bad that the network even preempted an episode.
So does the network have a solution to this problem? Not entirely, but they are at least trying to bring out something that will keep you in the know a little easier. You can download the CBS App for the upcoming season, turn on push notifications from your iOS menu, and be alerted better about programming delays for “Madam Secretary,” “The Good Wife,” or “CSI.”
We are going to be straight-up honest here when we say that we’re worried about this lineup for CBS this fall. “The Amazing Race” may not have been a ratings monster, but the show did manage to routinely get nice numbers and serve as an okay lead-in to “The Good Wife.” While “Madam Secretary” may be a more logical companion, we don’t see it getting the same sort of numbers given “Scandal,” “Homeland,” “State of Affairs” (premiering in November), and the influx of political programming that is out there to enjoy.
The one thing that “The Good Wife” has going for it? Given “CSI’s” age, it is most likely to be the highest-rated program on the network’s new lineup.
We’ll have some further scoop related to “The Good Wife” very soon, so be on the lookout for that. Also, sign up today in the event that you want some further TV updates right now via our CarterMatt Newsletter.
