‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 11 poster: Ellen Pompeo, Patrick Dempsey, and a message
“The life you save may be your own.”
This is the message that is adorned on the official poster for “Grey’s Anatomy” season 11, and these are without a doubt some pretty powerful words. They remind us very much of a classic short story of the same name by Flannery O’Connor, which we suggest you go out and try to find online. We don’t quite know if the quote is meant to be a reference to a story or not, but the show certainly fits.
This poster comes to us courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter, and one other thing that is very clear upon seeing it is that yet again, we are meant here to remember that this is very much the season for Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey’s characters to truly shine … though maybe not always in a good way. Their marriage will be in a rocky position almost immediately when the show comes back, and it is all due to a different of opinion in regards to the future. For Meredith, she wants to continue to do the work she has established in Seattle. Unfortunately for her, her husband has cultivated some other plans, hopes, and dreams.
While it seems like the main order of business right now for creator Shonda Rhimes is showing that a married couple can try to work through their problems rather than getting an immediate divorce, she also did not rule out that this is something that could be explored at some point down the road. Therefore, there is still that element of danger, and things may change all the time in the writers’ room.
It may not be much of a promo, but you can still check out one of the first teasers for the new season right now at the link here. Also, sign up to prescribe to getting more TV news from us right now via our CarterMatt Newsletter.
