‘The Originals’ season 2 spoilers: Could we return to Mystic Falls?

If you love “The Originals,” then it’s possible there may be some nostalgia for “The Vampire Diaries.” That show has not quite been the same since Klaus and company left, and for “The Originals,” there has to be a certain connection still to the show that started it all for them. Without Mystic Falls, where would we be?

It’s with this in mind that it does not seem too surprising at all to us that we may be returning once again to the town for the new season. While we still want to see a crossover where the “Vampire Diaries” cast goes to New Orleans, we suppose that it makes much more sense logically for it to be the other way around.

Speaking on this subject in a new interview with TVLine, executive producer Michael Narducci passed along the following message when it comes to just what sort of spin-off potential the show had moving ahead:

“There’s an interesting possibility for some flashback stuff … Remember, that’s where the Original family was – in ancient Mystic Falls.”

We suppose that another factor that could play into the show going back to the tiny town is the presence of Mikael and Esther. The two characters came back in the season 1 finale, even though the latter is basically tied directly to Davina now. You have to expect chaos to unfold from here, and Klaus should do almost anything and everything under his power to make sure that they go away.
