ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 4: Kerry Washington stands out in new poster

“Scandal” is one of the most-publicized shows on TV, and for good reason. It generates a ton of tweets per minute, scores big-name guest stars, and also has an executive producer in Shonda Rhimes known for creating great dramatic television.

With all of these great attributes, it’s a shame that someone didn’t do something a little more interesting with the season 4 promo art. The poster attached to this article comes to us via TVLine, and it features Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) front and center. The problem? This is hardly a very exciting side of Olivia. It feels almost like we’ve seen this same exact poster of Olivia before, maybe just from a different angle. This is a bummer, too, given that the network has managed to pull out some great promo art for the show in the past.

As for the slogan of “no looking back,” we suppose that this is appropriate given that you don’t have a whole lot of time to look back on this show. After all, just remember everything that is happening here the majority of the time! In the case of Olivia, you just spent months away from Washington with Jake to avoid thinking about the election, the various affairs with Fitz, or the fact that the President’s son died during the end of season 3. That’s a lot for any person to swallow, even someone as weathered and intense as Olivia. this is without even going into detail about her messed-up parents, or the bomb that nearly took the lives of countless Americans.
