Labor Day TV: Is ‘The Leftovers’ finale, ‘Real Housewives of New Jersey,’ ‘Ray Donovan’ on tonight?

Labor Day Weekend is traditionally a pretty complicated one when it comes to TV. Most of the time, there are at least a few networks who decide to throw in the towel on Sunday night. Sunday to many is practically just Saturday all over again, and thanks to that, they really don’t want to lose viewers to people out at a barbecue, or actually spending time with their family (crazy concept, right?) prior to the start of the NFL season.

There are a few programming updates, therefore, that you probably want to be aware of right now.

“The Leftovers” finale – Rather than air it tonight without a lead-in, HBO is holding off on this until next week, where it will be paired with the “Boardwalk Empire” season 5 premiere.

“Real Housewives of New Jersey” – You’re going to have to wait a week to see what could be one of the biggest episodes of the entire show for Teresa Giudice.

“Big Brother” – CBS is still running solid with its programming, so there is nothing to really worry about here.

“The Strain” – The same goes for FX, which will air yet another episode of their new hit drama.

“Ray Donovan” and “Masters of Sex” – Finally, good news for Showtime fans, as well. Given that the network actually aired new episodes of their shows against the Super Bowl, you should know by now that they are really not afraid of a whole lot of anything.

Next week should mark when things get back to normal, and other than marathons, there really isn’t anything different about tomorrow night … other than some kids preparing to go back to school in the northern parts of the country.
