NBC’s ‘The Voice’ season 7 spoilers: Taylor Swift joins in ‘Chris Martin role’
How about this for a big-name get for “The Voice“? For the show’s upcoming seventh season, the show has officially booked Taylor Swift to be their chief adviser for their second wave of battle rounds.
Basically, this is the same role, per Us Weekly, that Chris Martin of Coldplay held last year. The remaining acts will rehearse not only in front of their own coaches, but also with the “Shake It Off” singer as they try to make it to the live shows. We imagine that for all of the singers participating, there is no better thrill than getting to work with one of the biggest artists on the entire planet, and someone who worked very hard to make it to stardom. She managed to do it without having to sink to the typical lows of many in the industry, either.
With all this being said, we wish it was for something different other than more Battle Rounds. These are consistently the most boring parts of the entire competition, given that it is so consistently unnatural to see two singers of different styles performing in a duet, and competing to advance at the same time. We much prefer the Knockout Round to this, but to be honest, we’d really prefer that they just come up with something different where they can implement a major star, but have the focus be more on artistry and performing than putting singers in these “boxing match” environments for little reason.
For the time being though, what do you think about Swift joining “The Voice”? Do you think that she will be great in this role?
