‘Doctor Who’ season 8, episode 2 preview: Twelve, Clara visit a … good Dalek?
On Saturday’s new episode of “Doctor Who,” the name of the game is going to be Daleks. Specifically, we are going to see what happens when there is a Dalek that is so damaged and corrupted, it finds itself in the position of asking The Doctor for help.
There are some clear comparisons being made by fans already between this and a past episode of “Doctor Who,” and maybe that is a theme given the villains that we saw for the premiere. Perhaps this is all a part of the character’s journey of atonement, or an attempt to look again at problems that have faced him before. The reality is that when you have been around for as long as The Doctor has, you have to assume that there are probably going to be few things in the world that ever really surprise you anymore.
By the end of this episode, maybe we will have some more insight into whether or not this Doctor is a “good man,” and handles these sort of situations in a way that could be actually described as “moral.” For the time being, though, we can not say anything other than that we firmly expect this episode to be exciting, and a little more of a traditional version of the series than anything that we have seen so far this season. (Granted, we are not exactly looking at the largest sample size in the world here.)
We’ll be back tomorrow with a full review, so be on the lookout for that.
