‘Supernatural’ season 10: Jensen Ackles finally gives in, joins Twitter
We never thought we would see the day that Jensen Ackles would actually join Twitter. For the longest time, spotting him on social media was almost like spotting Bigfoot: It’d be really cool, but you never thought it was actually going to happen.
So does this news today mean that Bigfoot actually exists? Not really; our analogy stopped the moment that the “Supernatural” star actually signed on. Jensen confirmed the big news today by posting his first tweet, and doing it in front of a mass of people while at a fan convention in Vancouver. This means that all four of the “Supernatural” leads are now on social media, as Mark Sheppard, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins have been for some time.
Here is proof of just how passionate fans of this show are. Within just a few hours Ackles already had more than 170,000 Twitter followers, and this number will likely balloon out by the end of the day. We don’t know how much the guy will tweet, and we just hope it’s at his own leisure. He’s got some tough competition for being one of the best CW stars on social media. Misha is consistently hilarious, Jared has brought some great, honest insight from the show, and Stephen Amell over on “Arrow” is consistently awesome. We also cannot forget about Colton Haynes, who recently live-tweeted an awkward date taking place inside a coffee shop.
Now, we bring you Jensen’s introductory message from Misha:
“A few pointers for @jensenackles: 1) When you post something on twitter it’s called a “twit.” … .@jensenackles 2) only 140 characters per twit. 3) @jarpad’s feed is all lies & 4) twitter won’t let u post pics with full-frontal nudity … Also, @jensenackles, twitter sends u a generous check when you “favorite” or “retweet” posts from anyone with “ishacollins” in their handle.”
