‘Dancing with the Stars’ officially hires Julianne Hough as fourth judge
Well, there is no longer any need at all for speculation regarding whether or not Julianne Hough will appear on “Dancing with the Stars” as the fourth judge: It’s already official.
ABC confirmed today that the former champion of the ballroom competition will be back as a permanent fourth judge on this coming season following some stints as a guest. The great news here is that this will enable Len Goodman a chance to take some breaks if need be due to international travel, and the hope obviously is to get further people invested in the show ago. In a statement, Hough had the following to say:
“I’m so excited to be back with my Dancing with the Stars family again on a regular basis. I’ve always aspired to be an all-around entertainer, whether I’m acting, dancing or singing, and I’m thrilled for this opportunity that will allow me to continue all of those pursuits.
“Derek and I just finished our Move Live on Tour, which reminded me how much I miss the interaction with the dance fans that have been so supportive of me in my career … I am warming up the paddles and the sass, and I’m ready to have fun in this new role.”
Hough basically explains in here why she is not coming back as a dancer, and this is so she can continue to pursue other things while still being a part of the show. We are somewhat lukewarm on the pick overall. We know that Hough can be very entertaining and she has her fans, but one of the biggest issues with her is simply the way that she treated some of the pros the past two seasons. We don’t want to see them on trial; this is more about the contestants.
