‘Switched at Birth’ season 3 finale review: Was Bay’s sacrifice for Daphne smart?
There were many ways that we expected the season 3 finale for “Switched at Birth” to go, but we have to be honest here in saying that we definitely didn’t expect things to unfold in the way that they ultimately did.
The first thing that we have to discuss here is what Bay decided to do in order to spare Daphne: Basically, she fell on a sword meant for someone else. Her decision to turn herself in for crimes that Daphne committed was a move that seemed to be both friendship and also career oriented. Daphne wants to go to medical school, and not being in prison is of course the best way to do that. However, Bay thinks that being in jail may actually improve her suffering / credibility as an artist. Basically, we question the poor girl’s motives right after graduation. It was definitely a shocking moment, but also one that makes us extremely sad.
Thanks to this shocker, almost everything else feels completely overshadowed right now. Carlton School of the Deaf is basically no more, but at least all of these students can be happy and grateful for all of the time that they had there. We’ll cherish that part of it, too, given that the show is clearly never going to be the same after this. It has its own difficult road to go down, and with the characters growing up comes big decisions.
Really, it’s too hard to know what is going to come next, but thanks to this finale, the road ahead is certainly more dramatic than we ever thought it would be. Grade: B+.

I think this is unfair. Daphne should go to jail because she’ll feel guilty and everybody is going to be mad at her even if they won’t show it. Whatever, I’m just hopping that Bay, will not turn into a crazy sad person
