‘Sherlock’ season 4: Andrew Scott on Holmes, Moriarty
For the time being, we are still going to be waiting for an incredibly long span of time to figure out what is going to happen next on “Sherlock.” The earliest we can see the show premiering in Great Britain is Christmas 2015, and the wait will most likely be even longer in North America.
One thing that we do know is that when the show returns, you have to know that Moriarty will once again play an enormous role. Andrew Scott has been the master of cultivating this role from the beginning, and in a new chat with Attitude magazine, he had a rather interesting perspective for how the two feel about one another:
“Well, they are absolutely obsessed with each other … There has to be a line. In the words of Erasure, I love to hate you.”
Scott also joked about some of the fanfiction and art that exists out there featuring Holmes and Moriarty in some various states of romance, which is something many TV stars are familiar with right now:
“Oh my god, it’s the drawings and the photos! It’s mostly women doing it. You’re put with quite an array of different people. I think it’s done by librarians.”
We could definitely imagine all of the interest being somewhat disarming, but at the same time it’s flattering to get so much attention that fanfiction writers are artists want to ‘ship you, especially in all sorts of relationships. It basically shows your capacity to have chemistry with a wide variety of cast members.
