‘Big Brother 16’ review: Frankie Grande’s confessional, Otev, Gilbert Gottfried, and more

Frankie -Let’s start off this “Big Brother 16” review with something: How ridiculous was Frankie Grande’s confession about being Ariana’s brother?

The one thing that we applaud the show for is not pandering, and giving a fairly honest portrayal of things. Zach was visibly upset, while at the same time most of the house was skeptical of his motives in the end. All in all, a pretty accurate depiction, no? They even hilariously kept in Frankie calling himself a “mogul,” even if they didn’t leave his part about him wanting to make sure the cameras were on him before his confession came out.

In the end, this all seemed to have no impact on the houseguests, so there’s no reason to spend any more time talking about it. Instead, how awesome was Otev tonight? Hearing Gilbert Gottfried as the voice of a talking penguin was the rare surprise on a show with live feeds, in addition to Zach being a boss and winning a challenge that he really needed to win in order to ensure his safety. It’s too bad he followed this up with running his mouth in an attempt to get more allies, only to ultimately fail. Zach may be our favorite source of entertainment, but Derrick is running circles around everyone gameplay-wise. In order to avoid tragedy, Zach basically needs to ensure that either he or Donny wins Head of Household next week.

Surprisingly, there was no mention of the Dallas Cowboys reward that Frankie, Caleb, and Christine went on after the Battle of the Block. That segment must be being saved for Thursday’s live eviction show. Episode Grade: B.
