‘Chicago PD’ season 2 spoilers: The struggles for Burgess, Ruzek

Romance can be quite the tricky thing, no? Sometimes, you cannot help who you like, and this is something that a few stars of “Chicago PD” are going to have to collide against problems at the workplace, and with the fact that they work together in the first place.

Just one examples of this is going to come with the characters of Ruzek and Burgess on the NBC drama. These two seem to have the chemistry and the desire to make things work, but they are also still in that “we have to keep it secret” mode … and that may not be changing for a while. Just take a look at what executive producer Matt Olmstead had to say about the subject to TVLine:

“[Burgess is thinking], ‘I don’t want word to get out [about the relationship] because that will really ruin my ability to ever get into Intelligence.’ But a couple things happen. One is, she just really likes Ruzek, and he really likes her. So they’re trying to keep it under the radar, though I can’t say that’s completely effective because people get wind of it.”

We really like the idea of this relationship right now, especially since it’s something different for the show. We like in general the varying ways that “Chicago PD” is approaching pairings, given that you also have the one between Lindsay and Severide on “Chicago Fire.” Neither one of these qualifies as your typical relationship for such a show.

What do you think about this relationship, and are you convinced that the two will be able to make things work? Share your thoughts with a comment.
