2014 Emmys already planning Robin Williams tribute

Robin Williams -Typically, awards shows are able to change up little elements of their broadcast up to the last second to accommodate for news headlines; but with two weeks, the door is rather open to craft all sorts of things.

This is the position that the 2014 Primetime Emmy Awards find themselves in right now when it comes to Robin Williams, and what they want to do in order to honor a man who meant something to the entire entertainment world. While he has an Oscar is well-known for many for his films, he did rise to fame on “Mork & Mindy,” and was most-recently also the star of “The Crazy Ones” over on CBS.

So speaking to TV Guide, Emmy producer Don Mischer says that the organization is already preparing some sort of appropriate tribute to the screen icon for their show on August 25, and it could include tributes from many of the presenters to go along with it:

“With the tragic loss of Robin, we’re trying to deal with that and figure out what to do in the right, appropriate and meaningful way … It’s about what can we do to properly remember Robin and create perhaps an emotional moment about Robin, knowing all that he did for all of us who love entertainment and love comedy.”

We imagine that this will be yet another tear-jerking moment to come after all of the others over the past 24 hours or so, but this is also one that so many out there probably sorely need. It’s still difficult in many ways to process the news that the actor is gone, and this will prepare us for the other tributes to come down the line. There’s no real way to honor a man who meant so much to many on an awards show, but we know the producers will do their best.

We will have more on this story as updates become available.
