‘America’s Got Talent’ review: Blue Journey, Sons of Serendip, Mike Super, Paul Ieta shine

America's Got Talent -Tonight, “America’s Got Talent” had its third live show, and for the most part easily topped the hot-and-cold show they put on last week. There were multiple acts in here who we genuinely wanted to cheer for, and only one that we feel somewhat missed the mark … but that just comes down to personal taste.

As always with our reviews for the show, we’re going to run through here and rank the acts in order from our least favorite to of course the ones that came out and completely blew our minds.

12. Adrian Romoff – Here’s some tough news: He is a good piano player, but not a great one. This is just a really good talent show act accentuated by him and his mom having huge personalities. That’s almost entirely it.

11. Dragon House “The Agents” – The problem with these guys is that they should’ve just not been these characters. Dragon House is a good enough group as it is to come out with a different theme every week and kill.

10. Keiran and Finian Makepeace – We actually liked this performance, even if it tried to do probably a little too much with the tiny amount of time that they were given.

9. AcroArmy – Was it cool to see their story package, and also the return of a season 1 contestant to the show after he as a last-minute replacement? Sure, and this was very good. However, we do still feel here that this was one of those acts that still struggles to example.

8. Anna Clendening – As long as she didn’t bomb, we felt like her YouTube following and good voice would be enough to carry her through. This was only a slightly-above-average performance and kind of a safe choice, but it’ll still be enough more than likely for her to advance.

7. Paul Ieti – We never thought we’d rank personally the two solo singers out of the top five, but this is a testament to how good everyone else was. Paul wasn’t bad, but there were some weird affectations with his vocals that distracted us.

6. Christian Stoinev – This qualifies in part for “not our cup of tea,” mostly because we spent half of the performance terrified that the poor dog was going to fall off. One of the better solo dog acts of the night

5. Wendy Liebman – We really didn’t care for some of her previous performances on the show, but we have to say that this was actually excellent! A great comic character was assisted by some hilarious set-ups, like the one about her age that kept increasing. Sometimes her pace was a little quick, and that diminished her laughs … but there was a lot to do in a tiny amount of time.

4. Mike Super – We understand Mike’s “Desmond” gimmick, given that this is something that helps him stand out. We also love how unique his tricks tonight were. Do we understand the criticisms and the anger Mel B must feel? Sure, but if we’re looking for entertainment, this was definitely it and then some. Really, an excellent performance.

3. Cornell Bhangra – The surprise of the night to us. We know that they won the “Today Show” competition and all, but all that guaranteed them was a spot here and nothing else. What made us a fan tonight was mostly the energy. The choreography was mostly familiar, but the way that they carried it out showed their love and their spirit.

2. Sons of Serendip – Just the lead singer of the act is enough to make us love the act. He’s actually better than the majority of the other singers on the show. The rest of the arrangement just adds to the cool factor here. This is an act we really truly love, and hope is a part of the show for a long time moving forward.

1. Blue Journey – Clearly, this is turning out to be a great act when you just have one person continually topping the next. We hope that they don’t listen to Heidi Klum given that nobody voting really cares what the Radio City crowd thinks, and stay with orchestrating something so unique and special for those at home.
