‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ spoilers: Who will Gabourey Sidibe play?

While a good many of the familiar faces on “American Horror Story: Freak Show” are going to be playing members of the very thing in the title, we can now confirm essentially that Gabourey Sidibe will not be one of them.

Instead, it appears as though the actress will be taking on a character who could not be any further from Queenie if she tried. According to a report from TVLine, this woman will be a wealthy, well-informed woman with ties the the famous art institution known as the Barbizon School. This make her someone who does not exactly fit in with the theme of what the rest of the show is, so we are very intrigued to figure out what happens here.

What makes this particular news even more curious is knowing now that her mother will be played by none other than the incomparable Patti LaBelle.This definitely has all of the makings right now of a great series of episodes, given what we know about the talent of both of them. Plus, we tend to love it when the show does a complete turnaround when it comes to characters from one season to the next.

The only question that we have is just how much time she is going to be appearing on the show moving forward. She’s got another role on the Fox series “Empire,” and that means that she is going to be spending a whole lot of time trying to balance two separate series that are filming in two very different locations. Let’s hope that she got plenty of sleep beforehand.
