‘Big Brother 16’ is new tonight; PGA golf delays Frankie Grande’s ‘Battle of the Block’

Frankie -Tonight, “Big Brother 16” aired a new episode tonight … eventually. Before that happened, they made you sit through a ton of golf without really a timetable for when it was going to end.

Our conspiracy theory on the lack of ETAs for when the show will be back on the air is pretty simple: Viewers! It’s much easier to keep people watching TV if they think that their favorite show is starting at any given moment, versus keeping you off for a while until you eventually come back to watch. We knew that this was going to take a long time when CBS eventually chose to preempt “Reckless” from the schedule altogether tonight.

There is some great irony in this, given the events of this weekend and on the air tonight. Frankie Grande revealed himself to be Ariana’s sister on the live feeds this weekend (you’ll see that in Wednesday’s episode), and with all of that supposed celebrity pull, you’d think he could get one of his other big episodes to start on time! Yes, this is a joke, and we lost most of our sympathy for Frankie the past couple of days with the way he’s acted since revealing his true identity. It’s basically like someone from “Footloose” after learning that they are allowed to dance.

So if you’ve been away from the feeds and don’t want to watch this episode until later thanks to other programming coming on tonight, here’s what you need to know:

  • Christine and Nicole won Head of Household, and while the former nominated Zach and Donny, the latter put up Caleb and Frankie.
  • Caleb was a part of a plan to get Frankie out that involved him sitting out the Battle of the Block, which turned out to be something a single person could do. We know that there are conspiracy theories already about production designing it this way, but we like to think that these are plotted out long in advance and the show is far. Just a coincidence that way.
  • Frankie wins the battle, and he and Caleb are now safe. Not only that, but he, Caleb, and Christine get to watch some football.
