‘Switched at Birth’ season 3, episode 20 preview: Prom king and queen revealed!

While being declared Prom Queen is a huge honor for some in high school, there is one person who really doesn’t seem to care about it at all: Bay on “Switched at Birth.”

In the sneak peek below from Monday night’s new episode, you can see her have a very clear and visceral reaction to it being revealed that she is supposed to preside over prom alongside her boyfriend Emmett. While he seems more than happy to take on some of the responsibilities, she really makes it clear that she could care less.

So why the bad attitude over this? We can think of many reasons why someone wouldn’t want to be prom queen:

1. You wanted someone else to get it who cared about it more.
2. There’s the inevitable attention you are going to receive.
3. A good many people automatically assume your are entitled.
4. This forces you to be the representative of the prom in some way.

The only thing that is somewhat a surprise to us here is that the king and queen were announced before the prom even happened. In our experience, that is something that never happened, and we also do not see it depicted often in other forms of entertainment. With that being said, America’s a pretty enormous place and we are sure that somewhere out there, this very thing is in fact happening. Hopefully, their selection has a little bit of a better reception than Bay does.
