Katherine Heigl talks ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ exit (again), cites priorities
Just in case you are never going to be tired of hearing Katherine Heigl discuss her exit from “Grey’s Anatomy,” we have yet another story on the subject right now … and it probably won’t be the last you hear about it this year. Thanks to her new show “State of Affairs” coming up on NBC, we can imagine at least a few more of these coming before November. After all, Heigl left the show right in the middle of its heyday, and her exit was not well-received at the time. It doesn’t seem like anyone is that interested in welcoming Izzie back into the fold.
The interview featuring Heigl that we are talking about this time is with Good Housekeeping, and in it, she explains some of her emotions that she had trying to work on the ABC show and movies while also caring for her daughter Naleigh, who she had welcomed into her life via adoption:
“I would come home angry and frustrated that I’d missed everything with my kid that day … I didn’t get to wake her up from her nap, or do bath time or bedtime. I’d have to sneak into her room and kiss her when she was sleeping, hoping not to wake her up.”
What do you think about this new explanation? At this point, we’ve really just decided that we’re better off not really caring too much about it anymore. Heigl left, and everyone has moved on. It’s a bummer that we’ll never see Izzie again most likely on “Grey’s Anatomy,” but it’s not like we can hop back in time and change some of the events of the past.
